Rising Left-Wing Hostility Threatens Jewish and Christian Communities

Recent incidents highlight a disturbing trend of left-wing extremism targeting Jewish and Christian people of faith in the U.S. On May 21, 2025, a Jewish couple, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, was gunned down in Washington, D.C., by a pro-Palestinian extremist shouting “Free Palestine.” Days later, on May 24, a Christian prayer rally in Seattle was violently disrupted by far-left groups, including Antifa, who assaulted attendees and threw urine-filled balloons. These attacks, coupled with biased media narratives blaming the victims, signal a dangerous escalation in hostility.

Modern left-wing sentiment, often cloaked in social justice rhetoric, increasingly vilifies religious groups, particularly Jews and Christians, for their beliefs. Protests against Israel or biblical values frequently cross into antisemitism and anti-Christian persecution, with authorities and media downplaying the violence or framing the faithful as provocateurs. Seattle’s mayor, for instance, labeled the Christian rally “far-right,” ignoring its peaceful intent. This pattern risks normalizing aggression, eroding free speech and religious freedom. The FBI’s investigations into these incidents as hate crimes underscore the severity. Without accountability, such extremism threatens to further endanger Jewish and Christian communities, demanding urgent action to protect their rights.
